Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy explains how Arksen Limited uses cookies and similar technologies on www.arksen.com, what each one does, who provides it, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle personal data more broadly, and our Terms and Conditions.
Arksen Limited is a company registered in England and Wales (registration number 11055912), with its business address at Aberdeen House, South Road, Haywards Heath, England, RH16 4NG. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under number ZB390853. For anything relating to this policy, contact tellmemore@arksen.com.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your browser or device. It lets the site recognise your browser as you move between pages, or on a later visit — remembering, for example, what is in your basket, or that you are signed in.
This policy also covers technologies that behave like cookies without technically being one: local storage, session storage, tracking pixels, software development kits (SDKs) and similar device or browser identifiers. Where we say “cookies” below, we mean all of these.
2. Your choices, and how to change them
When you first visit our site you are shown a cookie banner. Before you make a choice, only strictly necessary cookies are set. Everything else — preferences, analytics, session analysis, and marketing — is set only if you consent to that category.
To review or change your choice at any time, use the cookie preferences control on any page of our site. You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it, and withdrawal takes effect immediately for subsequent page loads. Withdrawing consent does not delete data already collected; to ask us about that, contact us using the details in section 12.
You can also control cookies through your browser, which applies across every site you visit. Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox each expose cookie controls in their privacy or preferences settings, and mobile browsers have equivalents in the app's settings.
Please note that blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, will stop parts of our site working. You will not be able to add items to a basket, complete checkout, or sign in to your account.
3. How we manage your consent
We use a consent management tool to ask for your choice, record it, and apply it. It stores your decision in a cookie so that we do not have to ask again on every page view, and passes that decision to our store platform and to the third-party services connected to it. Where a service is described below as being used only with your consent, this is the mechanism that enforces it.
4. The categories we use
Strictly necessary. Required for the site to work. These do not require your consent, because we could not deliver the site without them. They cover your basket and checkout, keeping you signed in, load balancing, currency and region selection, security and fraud prevention, protecting our forms from automated abuse, and remembering your cookie preferences.
Preferences and functionality. Remember choices you have made — region, currency, language, dismissed messages — so the site behaves consistently when you return.
Analytics and statistics. Help us understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, how people arrive, where journeys break down. We use this to decide what to fix and what to build. This category includes session analysis, which we describe separately in section 5 because it deserves specific mention.
Marketing and targeting. Measure the performance of our advertising and, where you consent, allow us to show you more relevant advertising on other sites and platforms. Several of these cookies are read by the advertising platforms themselves, which may combine what they observe here with data they already hold about you.
5. Session analysis and recording
We want to be explicit about this rather than fold it into a general analytics line.
We use Contentsquare, provided by Contentsquare SAS, to understand how visitors interact with our pages. Contentsquare captures interaction data — mouse movement, scrolling, clicks, taps, and the sequence of pages you view — and can reconstruct this as a replay of a browsing session. We use it to find usability problems, such as a page where visitors consistently fail to find what they came for, that aggregate page-view counts would never reveal.
Contentsquare is configured to mask sensitive input, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors. It is loaded only where you have consented to analytics, and you can withdraw that consent at any time using the cookie preferences control.
6. Cookies we set and use
The tables below list the cookies most commonly set on this site, grouped by the service that sets them. Durations are the maximum lifetime of the cookie; many expire sooner. Third parties change cookie names and durations without notice, so treat these as indicative.

7. The services that set them, and what each is for
Shopify. Shopify Inc. hosts our store, processes orders and payments, provides the built-in analytics we use to see how the store performs, and operates both our cookie banner and the pixel framework through which the services below receive event data from our site.
Shop Pay. Shopify's accelerated checkout. Where you have a Shop Pay account, it syncs your basket and pre-fills your details so you do not re-enter them.
Klarna. We use the Klarna Web SDK, provided by Klarna Bank AB (publ), to display instalment and pay-later options on product pages and to process those payments at checkout. Klarna sets cookies to maintain your session with it and to run its own eligibility and fraud checks. Where Klarna processes your data for its own purposes it acts as an independent controller — see the Klarna privacy notice.
Contentsquare. Session analysis, described in full in section 5.
Google. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand in aggregate how our site is used. We use Google Ads to measure whether our advertising leads to enquiries or purchases and, where you consent to marketing, to show you Arksen advertising on Google properties and partner sites. We use Google Merchant Center to list our products in Google Shopping. Where you have not consented, these tags are either not loaded at all or are restricted so that they do not store information on your device. For some of this processing Google acts as an independent controller — see how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Meta. We use the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, to measure how our advertising performs on Facebook and Instagram and, where you consent to marketing, to show Arksen advertising to you and to audiences resembling our customers. Meta may combine this with information it already holds about you — see the Meta privacy policy. Meta acts as an independent controller for its own use of this data.
Klaviyo. Klaviyo, Inc. provides our email and SMS marketing. Its on-site code records which pages you view and which products you look at. If you have subscribed to our newsletter or given us your details, Klaviyo can link that browsing to your subscriber profile, which is how we send relevant follow-ups rather than the same message to everyone. If you have not subscribed, it holds a pseudonymous browser identifier only.
HubSpot. HubSpot, Inc. (EU-hosted) provides our enquiry, dealer, investor relations and newsletter forms. Its cookies let us see which pages led to an enquiry, and recognise you across visits so a returning enquiry is not treated as a new one.
Judge.me. Provides the product reviews and ratings on our site, and manages review invitations after a purchase.
Partnerize. Provides our affiliate and partner marketing programme. Where you reach our site through a partner, publisher or affiliate link, its cookies record that referral so the partner can be credited for any resulting order.
hCaptcha. Protects our forms and checkout from automated abuse.
8. Services that set no cookies but receive your IP address
Some parts of our site load code, fonts or images from third-party content delivery networks. These set no cookies, but delivering a file to your browser necessarily means the provider receives your IP address, browser type and the page that requested it. For completeness:
- Shopify Inc. — delivers our images, fonts, stylesheets and app assets.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (cdnjs) and jsDelivr — deliver the open-source animation and interface libraries our pages are built with.
- Judge.me — delivers its review widget assets from its own content delivery network.
We also use Yoast SEO for Shopify, which affects how our pages are described to search engines and sets no cookies.
9. International transfers
Several providers named above are established outside the United Kingdom, or process data on servers outside it. Where cookie data is transferred out of the UK we rely on either an adequacy decision covering the destination country, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Section 6 of our Privacy Policy has more detail on our transfer safeguards.
10. Third parties we do not control
Where a provider above acts as an independent controller — an advertising platform using data for its own purposes, or Klarna in relation to its own payment and fraud checks — it decides how it uses what it collects and is responsible for that processing. We have linked to their notices where relevant. We do not permit our processors to use your data for their own purposes.
Our site also links out to third-party sites, including our social media profiles, our careers portal and Arksen Pro. Following those links takes you to sites governed by their own cookie and privacy policies, which we do not control.
11. Changes to this policy
We keep this policy under review and update it whenever we add, remove or change a service that uses cookies. The date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed. Where a change materially affects what we do with your data, we will ask for your consent again.
12. Contact us
If you have a question about this policy, or want to exercise your data protection rights, email tellmemore@arksen.com or write to Arksen Limited, Aberdeen House, South Road, Haywards Heath, England, RH16 4NG.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
