The power of adventure
Arksen exists to create extraordinary experiences,stories and objects that immerse people in the wonder of the ocean. We build explorer vessels, performance apparel and carefully curated experiences, all designed for life’s greatest journeys, from the Greenland ice cap to the legendary Transat Ocean Race. We have a passion for vehicles too. Let’s call that a hobby.
We stand in the line of the great explorers: Fridtjof Nansen, Thor Heyerdahl, Jacques Cousteau and Bill Tilman. We design for the curious, engineer for the extremes and build without compromise. Because it is in the most freewheeling, untethered and challenging moments that we feel most alive.
The Ocean Inside™
We are not visitors to the ocean. We are made of it.
Our blood carries the salinity of ancient seas. Every cell in the human body holds more water than land. Life on Earth did not begin on the shore; it rose from the deep, nearly four billion years ago, and something of that origin has never left us. The feeling at the water’s edge, that sense of recognition, of something half-remembered, is not poetic licence. It is biology speaking in a language older than words.
A world in transition
This is a world of extremes. Around 4.5 billion years ago, the Earth was bombarded by other planets, with temperatures reaching 2,000 degrees Celsius. Then, 234 million years ago, it rained…non-stop, for two million years.
Those rains created our oceans and all the ingredients to support life. Now the transition continues, this time driven by profound environmental and cultural change. We cannot prevent, but we can prepare for what comes next. And we can relish the challenge.
As technology continues to advance, Arksen lives where the Engineered meets the Elemental. Not conquering the ocean, meeting it. And at the heart of everything we do is a simple conviction: people protect what they belong to.

Formed at sea
Arksen began at sea. In 2016, founder Jasper Smith and his son Stormy were sailing off the coast of Greenland when the scale and fragility of the ice cap turned a sailor’s conviction into a company.
Having spent many privileged years climbing and sailing together with Jasper’s other son Harper, they set out to share that privilege. To open the door to life-changing experiences and build a growing community of the curious.
Engineered emotion
You can engineer product attributes, but can you engineer emotion? At Arksen, we believe we can. Our explorer yachts,outdoor apparel and expert-led expeditions are designed with one intention: to create moments that make your spine tingle.
We may be a young company, but our expertise runs deep. Our team has crossed every ocean, climbed the highest peaks and dived the blue holes. We celebrate a cross-industry design ethos and collaborate with partners holding centuries of combined experience in marine, overland, apparel and expedition design.
Our long-standing partnerships transcend industries and include Humphreys Yacht Design, Wight Shipyard Co., Kewatec, Petratex, Ring Powercraft, Design Unlimited, Aivan, Garmin, Yamaha, Polartec, Pertex, Schöler and Majotech.
Borders? I have never seen one. But I have heard they exist in the minds of some people.
Guarding the future
The ocean is our North Star, and we are dedicated to supporting its future health. Our products are engineered to last a lifetime, but our philosophies and philanthropy will help the planet last many millions more.
We aim to protect resources by designing for the entire lifecycle, engineering for simplicity, function and longevity. We use efficient hybrid technologies. Responsibly sourced materials. And deliver solutions that are reliable, replaceable and recyclable at end of life.
We also aim to inspire collaborative change. Through 10% for the Ocean, the charity our founder established, we pool charitable giving across a coalition of brands to fund marine conservation worldwide.
