Our Journey So Far

Arksen is creating a range of exceptional vessels and services that are conceived to accelerate our transition to a sustainable marine future. Our vessels utilise designs, materials, equipment and technology that provide exceptional range and independence, minimise consumption and emissions and simplify operation and maintenance. We place whole lifecycle sustainability at the centre of this process.

Arksen is pioneering a new business model; ‘experiential ownership’. Combining sole or shared ownership, epic adventures, science and philanthropy to create a paradigm shift in accessibility and usage.

Since launching in 2019, Arksen has developed a £24m weighted sales pipeline for our range of vessels and raised £5.4m in institutional investment.

Why are you crowdfunding?

Equity crowdfunding is a way of allowing a large number of smaller investors to collectively own a bigger chunk of a company. It is our ambition to have our passionate and adventurous community become a shareholder of the business. This will allow us to share with our community any success resulting from our growth and operation.

Who can invest?

Anyone! Well, anyone who is over 18 and legally entitled to invest. We’ve asked our community before anyone else as we wanted you to be the first to know. We can’t advertise investment opportunities to those living in the United States, Canada, Japan or any other country where it would be unlawful for our pitches to be advertised. Please don’t register with us if you are a resident of these countries.

How do I become a shareholder?

You will need to sign up (free) to Crowdcube. As soon as our page is live you will have exclusive access to invest before we share with the rest of the world. You will officially be an Arksen shareholder once the round has closed and the cooling-off period (normally 7 days) is over! If you register your interest now we’ll let you know when the private page goes live.

When will the campaign go live?

We are going to go privately live beginning of September and exclusive access is given to those who have pre-registered. After this short private investment period we will open it up to public investment.

How much can I invest?

You can invest anything from £10 but make sure you check our rewards brackets so you don’t miss out.

Does pre-registering commit me to investing?

Not at all, it just means you’d like to have an exclusive chance to invest when we open privately. There’s a cap to the total investment amount and we will have to close the round once we’ve hit it, so we’re giving everyone who signs up now the opportunity to invest first.

What benefits do I get as a shareholder?

When you become a shareholder in Arksen, you own a small piece of our company. It means that you would share in the financial success of a sale, an IPO or a dividend return, although these are not guaranteed outcomes. Whatever happens, you’ll get to be a part of our future.

Who else has invested in Arksen?

Arksen has to date raised £5.4m in institutional investment.

Has COVID-19 impacted Arksen?

Our teams of designers and naval architects have been able to continue working remotely and we have even released a new model during this period, the new Arksen 60. The build yard had stopped working for a short period but is now up and working in a COVID safe way. During this difficult time across the industry there have been reports of an increase in the interest of escaping via private boat for charter and outright ownership, as individuals are seeking to live their best life and spend quality time exploring the world’s oceans. Therefore, Arksen is perfectly positioned to help people achieve their adventurous dreams, not only through our experiences but also giving people the additional peace of mind that they have chosen a company dedicated to reducing it’s footprint and ensure all systems are designed to reduce waste.

What is the target raise?

The target raise for this investment period is £1m.

How do I make a return on my investment?

TO EDIT: One way you can make money from your investment is by selling your shares for more than you paid for them. Hopefully, the business will grow to a point where it floats on a stock market, is bought by a larger company, or the company management buy back equity from investors. At that point, you should be able to sell your shares. You will need to be patient however as this could take some time, and Crowdcube do not currently provide any facility to buy back your shares in the meantime.

Another way you could make money from your shares is if the company makes enough profits to start paying you a dividend. This again may take some time as the company currently plans to invest any profits it makes in growing the business.
